Veronica Kvassetskaia is recognized as one of Canada’s leading contemporary Master portrait artist.
She joins the ranks of Stanford’s famous book “who is who” for promoting portraiture in Canada.
She is the First place Winner of the 2002 International Portrait Competition in Toronto, as well as the Founder and Chair of the Portrait Society of Canada( www.portraitsociety.ca).
Her notable portraits have included Toronto Art Council Clare Hopkinson, Opera Diva Measha Brueggergosman, famous Canadian Composer Larysa Kuzmenko, acclaimed Baritone Dmitry Hvorostovsky, Russian hockey Legend Vladislav Tretiak, Olympic triathlon champion Simon Whitfield, CEO of Canon Mike Maedi, American writer Lee Carroll (www.kryon.com), International philanthropist Sonja Bata, The Countess Von Wedel of Hanover, TIFT Artistic Director Arkady Spivak, Canadian Pianist Brahm Goldhamer, Canadian Soprano Galina Lukomsky, acclaimed ballerina Tatiana Stepanova, philanthropist Eugenia Swec, publicist Linda Litwack, Olympic Athlete Sasha Mehmedovic, Violinist Dr.Draw, financial magnate Murray Pollitt, Canadian legend Laure Legge, famous Opera director Tom Diamond and bishop Michael of Canada. Her works are in many corporate and private collections such as that of Canadian Finance Minister Jim Flaherty and 28 Lieutenant Governor of Ontario David Charles Onley as well as in the Canon corporation and the Steam Whistle Brewery.
She has been featured in numerous press, TV and Radio segments in Canada. In 2005 she directed documentary “the Miracle of the Portrait‘’ and in 2009 was featured on the Bravo TV series “Star Portraits”. Veronica has been an international juror in the Portrait Society’s Canadian Portrait Competition for the last 12 years.
